Life is Good!

We have had a fun couple weeks :) Let's catch up...

1. I ran my first "road race" on St. Patrick's Day with my sister, Amy, and friends, Mandy, Erin, and Janessa! I really thought I was crazy as the day quickly approached. I wasn't having the best string of luck, as I hurt my knee a month before and had to lay off running for awhile...not a good training move at all...All in all, it went very smoothly, and I completed my goal of running the entire time!! Woot! Woot!! Amy had on her fast shoes, and I was eating her dust right away, so I hung with Erin, Mandy, and Janessa the complete race. The only bummer for me was that Graham and the boys were waiting to see me cross the finish line, and we never saw each other. Oh, well. Next time! It was an awesome accomplishment, and one that I look forward to doing again!

We ended St. Patrick's Day at Amy and Nick's hotel pool with the kids. Everyone had a blast, and we were all home and in bed early :)

2. Graham started his OB rotation, and it is a good thing as we were running out of projects for him to do around the house ;) He is in full time study mode now prepping for OB and for the next set of Board Tests coming up this summer.

3. Twins had their 2 year appointments and are doing awesome! It is so fun for me to see how they are growing and developing...Dr. Knudson asked if they had any hobbies, and I told him that Andrew loves Lego's and trucks and Isaac likes trouble! He laughed and told me a story about his own kids that helped ease my mind...a little...

4. I was able to hang out with Amy, Molly, Charlie, and Rylan that day, too. It always is entertaining watching cousins play :)

5. We went to Duluth this past weekend to celebrate our good friends' daughter's birthday. We went to the water park and had a blast! Sean was all over the place, and he did a great job checking in with us to let us know where he was going next. It was a little scary at first, as we hadn't talked with him about it and then couldn't find him...panic mode as the place was packed! The twins had a blast being about to swim, go down the slides, climb up the rope ladders, etc. I, again, wished I would've taken pictures but my hands were busy the entire time they were swimming. I really didn't even want to get wet, but that changed quickly when Andrew decided to go head first down a tube slide! I was able to grab his leg and ride down with him...ugh! I am sure we could win America's Funniest Home Videos if we would've been taping it!

6. Now it is Monday, and all the kids are on Spring Break! So no school or extra kids for me this week. We have a few fun things planned but needed today to get caught up on life.

Naked, No Sleep, and Gray Hair...

In the last few days, the twins have become obsessed with taking their clothes off, and then putting them on again...Yup, that is Andrew's shirt around his waist...Yes, that is the NECK hole that is actually around his waist...NICE...
At first we fought them on it, and I spent too much time chasing them around the house...this got old very fast! They just have too much fun watching me...
Now, I have just given in, as I just can't keep up anymore...that is as long as they keep their diapers on (not so fun experience with this this morning)!!

To top it off today, they decided not to take a nap. Nap time is sacred time for me. It is a time when I can do laundry, clean bathrooms, and just maybe catch a TV show or log onto the computer...

No naps means crabby and stubborn boys...and the funny thing is (actually not so funny) they weren't tired at bedtime either! So instead they wrecked havoc on their new room, causing this mom to have to sit in their room until they fell asleep...NOT my favorite thing, as I now have 2 million things to do and all I really want to do is go to bed...hence my gray hair. Thank goodness for hair dye!

Tomorrow has to be a better day... ;)
I think I can, I think I can, I think I can...

New Rooms and Beds...Again...

We decided that sharing a bed really wasn't working for our growing boys, so Graham made some adorable toddler beds for their "new" room! They love them!! They still like to sneak into each others' bed, but eventually make their way back to their own :)
I call it their "new" room because Graham has been busy doing some house projects while he was on this last rotation...
For those of you that have been to our humble abode, they area we called the playroom is now Sean's new bedroom! Graham busted into the babies' closet to give Sean's room a little more square footage, so the babes have a new closet in their room. We love that Sean has his own space again, and we really love having all our boys upstairs! The basement bedroom has become a study room/treadmill room, and that was a needed space too! We are so lucky to have a handy guy around here :) But he heads back to "work" on Monday, so the projects are coming to an end.
Sean's new room...
He needed some fun posters :)

Crazy or Super Woman?? You decide...

I decided that I was going to take all three kids to the pool this afternoon!
1. We went to the Middle School pool, as now we are members of our community center and can swim there for free :)
2. This is the pool that the swim teams use to practice in and have meets, so it is very deep (10 feet +) at one end and about 3 1/2 feet at the shallow end.
3. There are a lot of steps and bleachers...
4. The babes are getting better at listening, but still have a mind of their own. So I was worried about them taking off from me when we got to the top of the stairs to the pool deck.
5. Sean is a huge helper and "blocked" them from escaping for an early dip...
6. Carried the stroller up so that I had a "safe place" for them to be.
7. Brought life jackets for the twins and toys for Sean.
8. Met my friend Julie and her family.
9. It all went very smoothly! Babes had a blast floating, jumping, playing, and splashing!
10. Sean had a blast jumping of the board, using flippers, getting rings from the bottom, and playing with his friends!
11. I am able to say that I managed to get everyone there, changed, in the pool, out of the pool, changed, and home with no hitches!! Hooray for me! That is one more notch in my belt ;) We will definitely be making this a regular event.

So...I started out thinking I was crazy, but finished up my day feeling like Super Woman!

While we were playing, Graham was busy finishing up Sean's new bedroom upstairs (he converted an open office/playroom area to a 4th bedroom)! The carpet is down and the room is clean. Tomorrow we will be moving him in! He is super excited, as are we :)
